BIOFIX, ally for the voluntary compensation of the carbon footprint
Through the development of conservation projects in association with black and indigenous communities, BIOFIX has become an ally of CO2 compensation for companies and people in Colombia.
With the structuring of REDD+ projects (Reduction of Emissions generated due to Degradation and Deforestation of forests), BIOFIX has managed to consolidate itself in the carbon market as an important actor that helps companies manage their CO2 emissions and that accompanies people in their carbon footprint compensation process.
With the development of this type of environmental conservation projects, the mitigation of the effects of climate change is sought through the capture of CO2, the improvement of the quality of life of the forest custodians, who are the families that inhabit the territories and the protection of fauna and flora of the territories.
Currently, the company works with 24 ethnic communities, made up of 8 community councils and 16 indigenous reservations, in departments such as Vichada, Guainía, Guaviare, Chocó and Valle del Cauca. With these communities, more than 1,200,000 hectares of tropical forests are conserved in Colombia and have contributed to the capture of 12,000,000 tons of CO2.
Offsetting the carbon footprint is now easier through BIOFIX's PSE platform. Sign in to www.biofix.co, select the button 'Compensate your Footprint' and point to one of the conservation projects that are carried out in association with Afro and indigenous families that you want to support.
